Preschool Graduation

It seems so strange that my little baby girl is graduating from preschool! I swear this year has flown by (thank goodness for that!). When we went to Brena's graduation, I had no idea how much I was going to cry! I was kind of embarrassed I cried so much. I don't know what it was. I guess I'm just not ready to let her grow up. She is such a sweet little girl. I love her kisses and hugs. I love her funny little accent. I love how she is so outgoing. She is a true social butterfly. This little girl says "Mommy I'm not doin' homeschoolin' - I have to go to Kindergarten!" We'll see...

Mrs. Wood - her sweet teacher that we adore.

Softball game

What a fun Saturday we had! In the morning our ward had a ward softball/bbq party. They had a mini softball game for the kids along with some water fun. We adults got to play a game of softball as well. It was so much fun! I haven't played softball in a very long time. Maybe 17-18 years or so. I wish we could find an adult league here to play with. After a hot day playing softball we went home and of course went straight to the pool - it was very refreshing!

I was the one taking all the pictures, and now I wish I would have asked someone to take one of the kids and I. Don't you hate that?

New addition to our family

Meet Cesar and the reason why we got a fence. Cesar is a 4-year old blue Doberman. We adopted him from a foster home. My friend who does my hair, and goes to church with me, fosters Dobermans. She also has 5 dogs of her own - 4 of which are Dobermans. My kids love animals, so I would take them over to her house to let them get their fill of dog play. They got Cesar back in February and we have been playing with him ever since. We fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. He is seriously the best dog ever. And a perfect first dog for us. He doesn't have any hair, so he doesn't shed. He doesn't jump, lick, he rarely barks. He has never growled. He doesn't jump on the furniture, and he has never chewed on anything but his toy bones. He sleeps in a crate at night. I let him stay loose in the house when I leave and he has never had an accident. He is stuck to my side like glue. He won't let me go anywhere in the house without him.

The kids adore him. Brena calls him "babycakes" ha ha!!
New fence. Cesar got to run in the yard today, I think it's safe to say he loves his new yard. TJ isn't going to recognize anything when he gets back!

New neighbor

So, we have a new neighbor causing quite a stir. An alligator!! I had heard the rumors for a couple of weeks that there was in the pond across the street from us. Saturday morning the kids and I took a walk and sure enough - we saw it. But, I didn't have my camera. Well, today we looked out in our backyard - at our lake. And guess what? Yep, the alligator moved over to our lake! This is a picture of him if you can see that dark spot in the middle of the lake. I kinda wanted him to come closer for a better picture :) I never wanted to get a fence for our yard. Funny thing is that a fence is being put up in our yard right now. I am kinda glad we will now have a fence!

I Spy finished!

This week was teacher appreciation week at Brena's school. I finished the quilt last night. Brena gave it to her teacher today. She loved it. When I picked Brena up from school today Ms. Wood said they already played I spy with it. That makes me happy to know the quilt will get lots of use in a preschool room! It measures 54x65.

My favorite square, I love those states and capitals!

The back that can be used to play I Spy with too!

Mother's Day

I can't say as I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Really, it was just mostly like any other Sunday. I didn't have anyone cook me breakfast or give me special gifts. However, I did buy myself some new silverware and drinking glasses :) But, I can say that I am truly, truly blessed to be a mother. I love my kids with all my heart. One of the hidden blessings I think with TJ being gone is how much time the kids and I spend together. Yes, sometimes it's a little rough. But, I can honestly say that it has made me love my kids even more. I didn't think it was possible to love them anymore, but I do. We have struggled through some tough times this past year together. I know we have formed an amazing bond between the three of us that I will always treasure. I hope they will too.

Mother's Day at Brenalee's school

Brenalee's preschool had a Mother's Day party yesterday. It was so cute. They provided the entertainment and refreshments. The class did some really cute dances and songs. We read I'll Love You Forever. I love that book. I have read that book to Tyler since he was a baby and I cry every time. I feel so blessed to be a mom. I am so blessed to have two perfect children. I often wonder how in the world TJ goes 6+months without seeing the kids. I wouldn't be able to do it.

Dancing and Singing.

I loved this picture of me and the answers Brena gave to the questions. Did you know I'm only 14 years old??!!

The yummy brownie sundaes!

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

Isn't he seriously so good looking??!! I love that I married a man in uniform. Although the sacrifices aren't always easy, I'm proud to be a NAVY wife.
