Camp Cuboree

Tyler had a Camp Cuboree he was able to attend.  Luckily TJ had the weekend off and could take him.  It was actually cold that weekend and Brenalee and I wanted to stay home and have a girls' weekend of watching Barbie movies and eating "junk" as she likes to say.

They left Friday afternoon.
 And stayed most of Saturday.

Tyler had so much fun learning new things.  Apparently there was 1,700 Cubs there!  That doesn't include leaders!
I am so happy they got to have this weekend together before TJ deploys.  I know they made some lasting memories.

Halloween

Luckily TJ was home to take the kids trick-or-treating!  I was still motion sick inside my house and throwing up - ugh!  Of course they had a great time, got too much candy, and ate too much candy!  They went just around the streets in our neighborhood.  I know they had fun seeing all their friends in their costumes.  The schools here do not allow costumes to be worn to school.  I remember when I was a kid it was so fun to go to school and have your Halloween party and see everyone in their costumes.  I wish it was still like that!
 Our friends Maddy and Mia.
I hope they had a great night!  I on the other hand didn't.

7 Night Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean - Day 8

We woke up on Saturday, October 29, at it was time to leave.
We had a good-bye breakfast at Animator's Palate.  Tyler saying good-bye to Sam.
 The girls giving good-bye hugs.
 And we are off!
I would LOVE to say we will be doing another cruise.  However, after we got home and I took off my motion sickness patch - Scopolamin - I suffered severe side effects from it.  It was horrible!  Basically I was motion sick in my house for FOUR DAYS!  It took me almost a week to be over all the side effects.  I couldn't do anything but lay in bed and want to die!  I don't know why the patch didn't affect me last year.  As much as I want to go an another Disney Cruise, I don't ever want to be that sick again!

7 Night Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean - Day 7 evening

It was our last night on the boat.  We didn't want it to be over!

We ate our last evening meal at Animator's Palate.  Sam and Brian had to be in our picture.  We will miss the Kinjo family!

7 Night Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean - Day 7

Day 7!  We finally made it to Disney's private island - Castaway Cay!  We love it here.  There is so much to do and of course - the beach is awesome!
We took a bike ride when we first got off the boat.

We rode up to the lookout tower.
Then we played the rest of the day.

I spent a little time doing some R&R with my Kindle.
It was a little drizzly later in the afternoon so we went to a covered game area.  Tyler teaching Kana to play chess.

Have you ever seen a Connect 4 game this big??
 TJ shot some hoops.
TJ and I tried to play checkers.  I say tried because we couldn't remember how to play checkers!  Sad, I know.

 What an AWESOME day!

7 Night Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean - Day 6

No pictures for day 6!  We were at sea and we did all the normal things we did on the other 2 sea days - swim, eat, play ping pong, eat, basketball, eat...did I mention eat???

7 Night Disney Cruise - Eastern Caribbean - Day 5

We arrived in beautiful St. Thomas on day 5 - October 26.  We ate some breakfast which included (like every morning!) Mickey shaped waffles which the kids loved.
St. Thomas was breathtakingly beautiful!

We got off our ship and went to a small boat that took us to St. John.
We arrived in the small island of St. John about 45 minutes later.
We did a nature hike there and learned about some local landmarks.  We learned about some of the vegitation on the island and some ruins.

Then we arrived at this gorgeous beach.  I think the beaches keep getting more beautiful every island we go to!
The kids enjoyed the water...in their clothes.  Nowhere on any of the information did it say to bring swimsuits!  So, the kids and TJ went in the water with their clothes on.  I opted not to go for wet jean shorts - ugh!  It was almost torture to sit on that beach watching people play in that beautiful, clear, cool water.  It was really hot - I'd really liked to have jumped in!

Some of the sugar plantation ruins on the island.
This is a picture of the resort there on St. John.  It rents for a mere $10,000/week!  They were naming some of the celebrities who stay there - I think one was Angelina Jolie.

Leaving St. John and going back to St. Thomas.
Another cruise ship pulled in while we were away!
That night at dinner we were back at Lumiere's.

At the Walt Disney Theatre that night we got to see Villains Tonight.  It was a great comedy about all the villians in the Disney movies.  We really enjoyed it!
