Geocaching in VA

Our friends had some more baby goats and we decided to go see them and take Carol with us.  On the way out to their farm is a really cool covered bridge from 1916.  We decided to have a picnic there and do some geocaching!  Tyler was on a scout canoeing trip, so we missed him.  It was a gorgeous day!

The geocache was in the bridge and we found it pretty quick.

Bristol was OBSESSED with throwing leaves and sticks down this hole into the water below.

Then it was off to the baby goats.  They are so adorable!

Bristol and the baby goats have some things in common.  Both like to climb!

Some of the new babies and some of the older babies we visited last time.

Another great family Saturday!

Thanksgiving

We had reservations to go over to Preston's (the restaurant over at the Inn at Virginia Tech).  I was really looking forward to their dinner because I've heard how good it is.  Then a family in our ward invited us over to have Thanksgiving with them and we accepted.  He is the institute director here at Tech and they just have their big dinner at the institute building because they feed a few sets of missionaries and they have a really big family.  It was a wonderful day.

First Snow

Woke up to it snowing and it didn't stop.  We got a couple inches or so.  Brenalee was out the door by 7:30am making snowmen!  She was sledding down the road on the boogie board, too.  Her sled broke last year, so she is making do with what she has I guess.  That kid is CRAZY!  I had to go teach my gym class and I told the kids to stay in the house.  I got home and knew they had not listened because there was a new snowman in the yard :)

Family Pictures

We went out on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get some family photos taken.  I had seen some photos of Mabry Mill and really wanted photos taken there since this is our last fall here.  It was about an hour drive and probably the most beautiful drive I've ever seen.  The trees - oh my word!  They were GORGEOUS!  I can't wait to get our photos back!  It was an adventure trying to get Bristol to cooperate though.  She thew her shoe in the water - our photographer's husband had to go fish it out!  It was soaked and she was barefoot the rest of the shoot.  She's such a hoot!

Family Pictures

I've always wanted to have some family pictures taken in the fall leaves here in VA.   I think we were just a week late in getting the very best from the leaves, but there was not really another time we had to be able to do pictures.  You can see some of the trees in the photos have already lost all their leaves.  Getting Bristol to cooperate was impossible!  I was a little frustrated with that child!  She threw her shoe in the water, so most of the pictures of her are without shoes.  We'll try again in a couple years!
